The White Metal Original has a brilliant chrome finish and slotted ferrule that eliminates sand-binding. The polycarbonate "crown" is bright white, durable, and when removed allows the cup to be used on the putting green. We received a U.S. patent for this innovative design in 2004.

Wanting to demonstrate our manufacturing process to customers at the Atlanta show, we pulled some White Metal Originals off the line before applying chrome to their copper undercoats. The copper look was an unexpected hit, and we acquired a dozen new clients immediately. There are courses who love these unique copper cups despite the extra maintenance the "shiny penny" look requires, and we'll continue to make them available.

Before the current line of White Metal cups, we developed a popular hybrid aluminum/plastic cup as Napex Golf, fusing the best characteristcs of traditional aluminum and plastic cups. Headlining "Paint-Free Metal Golf Cups," Napex had the busiest booth at the trade shows where they debuted, and soon there were Tuff-Cores in every state and around the world.

Our search for the perfect cup kept us experimenting with the Tuff-Core. Eventually we achieved the desired metallic ball drop tone by molding a brass insert into the bottom of the cup. Many superintendents liked these cups' "throwback" appeal, but we later recalled them due to a structural problem. If you purchased Tuff-Cores with brass inserts and haven't replaced them under the recall, please contact us and we'll set you up with some new cups.

Napex Golf designed their first cup to link the golfer's positive experience of sinking a putt to a new exposure arena for corporations, tournaments, and courses. Here we learned the challenges superintendents face with the performance of traditional all-plastic or all-metal hole liners and set off on our quest to perfect the product.
